Is Full-Time RV Life Worth It?

Ok...it's been six weeks now...what's the REAL word on Full-time RV life? WELLLLLL....let's start out with "Mistakes HAVE been made"! If you've been watching our first videos then you know the saga of the Princess Step...well, THAT continues with the poor thing being abandoned for a few days. There was a "forgot to chock" the wheels incident which led to a bent piece of metal...but thankfully nothing more. We are, literally, learning something new every single day. Thank goodness for friendly campers and family who have helped us out!
So far we have stayed at three "Harvest Host" locations, two Thousand Trails campgrounds, two Casinos (one of those was an official campground, one free overnight camping), two National Parks, one campground located in the middle of a city and "moochdocked" in two wonderful spots with family at their homes.
We are also checking items off our lists like visiting the sixth PNW Troll and catching Chinook Salmon in the Columbia River! But here's the thing...this is real life for us. We work Monday through Friday, remotely, from the camper and then we spend time after work or on weekends doing stuff in the area or relocating to the next area. While we get to go and see and do some really great stuff, this is NOT vacation life for us. We do pretty much what you do. We grocery shop, do laundry, work, clean, watch tv...all the usual stuff. BUT, the difference is that every couple of weeks we are in a new location that we can explore when we have some free time.
Sometimes that exploring is a Farmer's Market or a city park that is so lush and beautiful it takes your breath away. Now, if we actually lived there, we may never go to these spots or take the time to wander around town and see the public art. We use to get so wrapped up in the day-to-day stuff that we forgot to be a tourist in our own town. And, believe me, Monterey has a LOT to go and see and do...we just rarely did it. This new lifestyle encourages us to get out and see what we can while we are there because soon we'll be leaving again.
In fact, sometimes, for us, it was just appreciating WHERE we were working. The photo of the truck above is from Olympic National Park. We were there only two days but the Ancient Grove was just a couple of miles away for us to explore. The other photo is actually our office view up in LaConner Washington. Our campsite was a gorgeous rainforest canopy but Starlink doesn't like that so we moved to the clubhouse each workday morning and plugged in and that was our morning view.
The question we hear most is: "How is it living in such a small space?" Then they go on to say that they'd never be able to do that with their spouse. There have been some adjustments but we are both totally happy with this RV. It has a bedroom that closes off so we can get a little separation, a kitchen big enough that we don't have to squeeze past each other to move around and a comfy office/living room set up that allows us to work in the same room...as I'm doing right this minute...just a foot or two away from each other as well as kick back and enjoy a bit of tv or reading at night.
And, as you can see above, whenever the weather is nice I LOVE to pop outside, set up my "office" and work where I can see the view and any wildlife that pops by. While moochdocking at my brother's house near Olympic National Park, there would be deer that wandered by each afternoon to sample their blackberry brambles. They could care less about me but I never got tired of their daily visits.
